Ah the age old battle between bristles and felt tip brushes. It is a battle whose flames never die down for me. I love them both.

On the down side, felt tip brushes loose their tip fast. The up side: felt tips give you the same control as a pen.

Bristle brush pens, however, open the Pandora’s box of brush strokes. You can do so much more, and in some cases, discover happy accidents that make your work seem richer. And of course you can refill them with your ink of choice.

The picture shows three new felt tips I ordered from jetpens.com. What? Did you think I’d just order more lead? So this week I’ll work them into the inking rotation and see how they do. Not that I’m looking to replace my Kuretake or my Pentel brush pens. A variety of tools helps expand your style.

Back on deadline. Now, hopefully, I might be able to pull ahead. Also, I’m writing more Alabama Lab strips this week which means they’ll run mid August or so.
