Herbin Woes
|
Right, so my two main working pens for writing are a Pilot Petit and the mini Ohto fountain pen. And so far the J. Herbin Coffee ink is clogging them both like a two year old on a cheese binge. Granted, I’m left handed and that always causes trouble with nibby pens, but c’mon, it’s the ink not me right? Any other pen lovers out there have similar troubles? And, of course, don’t forget about my upcoming graphic novel. Swing by the site and get a glimpse:

First – today’s cartoon is hilarious, I love it!
Second – this is a scented ink, right? You need to be careful with scented ink, the oils used to scent them can clog up your pen – so I would not leave this ink in my pen for long and be sure to clean it VERY well when you are reading to change inks.

No scent to this one. Although now you got me interested in finding a coffee scented ink.

Hillarious! Great floppy ears/ paws animation. BTW ran into a chocolate lab puppy up in Seattle over the holidays and called up your site right quick with the iPhone. A new fan is born!

I just tested a pen that has been loaded with Lie de The but unused for several weeks and it wrote without issue. I’ve never tried that with Cacao du Bresil. However, it has never clogged a pen for me. Have you checked the bottle for sediment or other signs of contamination?

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check. I’m also using it as an excuse to try out another brand of ink (TBA) to see if it’s the pen. Although my other pilot petit is an absolute workhorse and never clogs. Pretty sure I could use maple syrup in that one.
