Why is ‘today’s comic’ actually from 2 weeks ago? Is it a copyright issue?

It’s just to let the Newspapers run it first. Although that will be changing soon, as it already runs in real time on several other websites.

sweet – I really like your work, writing AND drawing. Are you scanning your inked stuff or drawing direct into the box? Hmmm, maybe you answered that already in one of the Tall Tales interviews, have to revisit there.

Hey Alan, thanks for swinging by. I scan in the art and letter on the computer. Once I have studio space again, I plan on doing everything by hand.

Funny how regardless of all the tech available it really does boil down to getting the drawing right the old fashioned way, at least as far as cartooning/comics. Even though I get a cool usable drawing line in the computer (Flash + Wacom), it’s not the line i would normally get on the drawing table with a pencil or pen. Instead I get a different line that I end up accepting (based on the project) ’cause that’s what i get. I prefer the old fashioned way for comic strips, etc, then lettering and coloring in the box.

I agree. Although I must say I’m a fan of a lot of artists who work strictly on the PC. It comes down to your reaction to the final art.
