Berke Breathed Interview

opusinterview.gifThe Berke Breathed interview is now up at TTF! Still in that thick dream haze of “did we actually get to interview Berke Breathed?”. Well it’s real, true, and now live.

And also, you must check out the illustration by Lucas Turnbloom of “Imagine This“. Just plain wow!

Fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing that. I trust you have all seen the end credits of the woefully underappreciated movie “Secondhand Lions”, which is filled with fantastic drawings of a fictitious cartoon strip called “Me and Jasmine” which are, of course, creations from Mr. Breathed?

    Yes indeed, Molly.

In fact, if you pick up the book “Opus — 25 Years of his Sunday Best,” it has some of the better illustrations from the fictitious Walt Caldwell strip, “Walter & Jasmine.”

AND… he says in the book that “W & J” actually inspired him (Mr. B) to get back behind his drawing table.

SO … Everyone who is a Berke Breathed fan should see that movie. Not only is it a good flick, it helped to resurrect Opus!

Been meaning to pick up that book. One of three I’m missing from my BB collection.
