Contest
The prize: A DeD original strip.
The rules: If DeD isn't running in your paper, just drop the editor an email requesting it. Shoot me a copy of the email and you're in. If DeD is in your paper, send them a thank you email for carrying it, and of course send me a copy and that's your entry.
Timeframe: This one will run for two weeks (starting from Monday).
And that's it. Hopefully soon I'll have some books to give away as prizes.

My boxer has only been in the water once. It was after some heavy rains and I had taken them hiking. There was a retaining wall about 15 yards long and 6 feet high that had blocked off a lot lot of run off from th mountain behind it, meaning the water was level with the top edge. Some dirt and leaves had fallen on it, so it looked like regular ground. Trooper Yhorn ran up the hill and across the retaining wall. BeBop thought he would do an end run around and ran full tilt boogie on “top” of the water (I think he actually got 2 steps in before he sank like a stone.) He popped up, eyes HUGE, doggie paddled to the edge where I could quickly haul him out. He did the “shake thing” and I was standing too close (not just the brrrr factor, but a wet, boxer tail is like a billy club against your leg. I actually had bruises!) Fortunately, the sun was out that day and he dried quickly, and in true doggie nature, he forgot about it instantly.
I’m gonna guess Sophie has a longer memory

You have to love those moments when your dog makes you feel sad for them but make you laugh at the same time.
Sophie does tend to remain embarrassed for a bit after such instances.

Ah! Friday at last. It’s a pleasure to indulge myself a little by visiting your site a few minutes before leaving work. Good humor. Good perspective. And it helps me unwind after the most gawdawful week from hell since last week. You do us all a favor. Thanks.
PS, I like your readers, too. If you ran a favorite pizza contest, I bet we’d all vote.

Thanks Rob for the kind words.
I’m a little partial to my readers too. Technically they’re my boss.
