Absolute must for cartoonists

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

A month ago or so I was tired of cleaning up smudges on my strips. I’m a lefty and I draw at least three strips a day. I’ve become very methodical in my inking just to avoid smudges. I start at the right and move bottom to top all the way to the left end of the strip. But you can’t avoid making a mess, both on the panel and your hand. A google search for “smudge guard” turned up exactly that: a smudgeguard. Needless to say I have this on almost all day everyday. I love it so much I’ve added a banner to the sidebar to help promote it. It’s also great for a lot of other uses. Just check out the website:

Thanks for posting that. I just bought one.
I don’t use pencil, but it says it helps with ink too. Guess I’ll see.

It’s help keep my ink smudges to a minimum.

    FYI

There are two typos in your kudos to smudgeguard…
    “lve and othe ruses”

Thought you would want to know.
