I Lived On The Moon

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Wow. This is just unreal. Animation like this just re-ignites the creative fires. The official site is here:

Site Troubles

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Site was down a bit this morning. There seemed to be some sort of lock up in connecting with the DB. Refrshed the connection and it seems to be fine now. Nice reminder that it’s a bit overdue for a re-design. Although I haven’t found theee best software (other than Comicpress) for hosting a webcomic.

Stardust Weekend!

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Don’t forget, “Stardust” opens this weekend! There are so few movies that I’m willing to eat up time from my schedule to go see, this would be one of them.

DeD in Shreveport, LA

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

If you read the Shreveport Times, DeD is in their latest online poll. Link is below. They have a poll for what to drop too, and MAry Worth is on the list. It’s going to be nasty:

Online Children’s Bookstore

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

Tell me this site doesn’t rock. The site is a children’s books only webstore. They also have prints of artwork from classic books. Check it out:

Yah, I’m a notebook geek

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

I admit it. I don’t just use notebooks everyday for work, I love using them. Mostly I use Moleskines, both for writing the strip and books. Thanks to Notebookism, I’m now anxiously awaiting the launch of these:

Comfortable Shoes Studio: The Finishing touches

The artist is from my neck of the woods. Maybe I can do a trade. Still, it’s a brilliant idea.

Absolute must for cartoonists

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

A month ago or so I was tired of cleaning up smudges on my strips. I’m a lefty and I draw at least three strips a day. I’ve become very methodical in my inking just to avoid smudges. I start at the right and move bottom to top all the way to the left end of the strip. But you can’t avoid making a mess, both on the panel and your hand. A google search for “smudge guard” turned up exactly that: a smudgeguard. Needless to say I have this on almost all day everyday. I love it so much I’ve added a banner to the sidebar to help promote it. It’s also great for a lot of other uses. Just check out the website:

SmudgeGuard – Eliminates smudges and hand friction for Artists, Left-handed children & adults, Wacom and Tablet PC Users!
