Isn’t it amazing how they do that? Sleep thru all that booming and lights in the sky and then wake up when the phone rings half a ring at home! Also love the expressions today!

Today’s (July 4) comic appeared a couple of weeks ago in the Chicago Tribune. They published a one panel strip of Doug and Sophie and parents watching fireworks. Would appreciate a reply explaining the different timings. Thanks Jo

My site has to be two weeks behind the newspaper strips. Although that may change in the future.

This is very nice for a lot of reasons, but I’m struck by the LINES: Really well done from an artistic standpoint. I just got done doing a 3-panel. Everything turned out ok, but there was a point there where I was inking it and an ink glob fell on the sketch. Luckily, I was able to turn it into something that worked with the panel, BUT….
You’d said you use a brush pen. (I use a dip pen.) My question is, is the brush pen you use filled with waterproof india ink of the same blackness obtainable from dipping into an ink bottle? Or are your lines darkened later by some manner?
I read that syndicates want dip pens to be used??? You don’t and you’re one of the very best. It’s confusing. ( :
