Yacin The Faun

Sunday, March 4th, 2007

I stumbled upon this blog and have fallen hopelessly in love with this character, the drawings and what appears to be an eventual graphic novel and animated film. I mean, just check out the page breakdowns the artist is doing in their Moleskine. Those alone are better than most comic books.

I am sooo looking forward to reading this! I’ve put off reading his other series as I’m trying to stay away from YA novels while working on mine. But it’ll be on the top of my list once the first draft is done.

But the site for his new series is fantastic, especially his videos on writing. So click away and enjoy:

Diesel Sweeties

Friday, March 9th, 2007

I’ve had this one in my links section for awhile but never did a formal post. Like DeD, this strip started as a webcomic and recently made it to print syndication.

Also like DeD, the creator is from Massachusetts. And no, it’s not something in the water. It was a primate/cartoonist genetic experiment gone horribly wrong in the seventies.

Local Artist

I just rediscovered Greg’s work. I was a big fan of his a few years back when he worked on a comic called “Freaks of the Heartland”. His new stuff for the Goosebumps series and another upcoming graphics project from Scholastic are truly awesome. Make sure you click the link for “The Woodland Chronicles”.

Humorous Maximus

Just bookmark it now. I’ve been lax in putting up a link to this site, but it’s a real treasure. Besides two of my favorites, Lost Sheep and Small Wonder, there is a wealth of unbelievable comicy goodness here.

New Sketches from my Novel

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Thought I’d post a quick link to my novel site. I’ve posted a few new sketches over there this week. Plus, I posted the poem I wrote for the opening. That may or may not be the only text from the book I post on the site. Although I probably will have an excerpt further down the road.
