The picture shows everything I use to draw the strip. I create the panels in illustrator then print it out onto bristol board (smooth). Sunday's are about 14in. wide and dailies are 12in. This is mainly so they fit on my scanner. Although I plan on eventually getting a big, big scanner so I can draw the strips even larger.
I use Faber-Castell pencils. I have a whole set, but for the strip I do roughs with a 5H and then usually grab a H or HB for finishing pencils. When I started the strip I only did one round of pencils before inking. But now I do two rounds. It gives the strip that smoother, refined look that apparently is becoming my style.
The pens are from Copic. They're aluminum and refillable which is a huge plus. I've tried every pen imaginable (still do). But the pen really does dictate the style. I've found these pens work best for the strip. I used to use Micron Pigma pens, but the nibs didn't last long and the ink faded. If you like the Micron's you will LOVE these copics.
A couple other tools not pictured are my gum erasers, pen erasers and a couple sharpies for coloring in large black spaces. Oh, and the occasional reference photos.
