Today’s Comic
Another big thank you to everyone that voted on the MSNBC.com poll. Of course it doesn't guarantee they'll put the strip on the page. However, they can't ignore that 51% of the people that took their poll like Dog eat Doug. That's 51% more people than if they hadn't included DeD. And that's pretty cool. So another thanks to everyone for invading MSNBC.com.

Is today’s strip something that actually happened or was it just an idea you had?

This storyline is so fantastic!
Do you have any plans or intentions of letting rescue organizations use the strip to help promote the importance of ID’ing their pet? My husband and I have rescued so many animals that didn’t have a collar or tags. One little guy had his tags, but they were on the harness thayt he slipped out of. Fortunately, he was chipped, but that isn’t always enough. We’ve found animals had ID microchips, but the information wasn’t current, and the owner could not be located.
Anyway, just wanted to thank you SO much for this great storyline that underscores how important it is to ID our pets, with current information, and to have more than one way for you to be found.
P.S. Great safety tip. We have flyers already designed in our computer with current information on our boys in case they ever get lost. That way, we just have to fill in the pertinent information or when and when they were lost, and we can get the flyers up so much quicker if they ever do get lost. We always print a few up when we travel with them, too.
Best,
Molly

I’d love to let any resue group use these strips. And yup, this really happened. It didn’t dawn on me right away to work it into the strip, but I’m glad I did. The dog’s name was Ginger and she was as sweet as could be.

This happened to us, driving home in 5 degree weather we saw a blond cocker spaniel. He was wearing two feet of lead and no tags, but was happy to jump in the car. We named him Rod, after Rod Stewart, and called the local shelters to see if anyone was asking about him. Apparently he’s a habitual wanderer. His dad gave us a free puppy the following spring though. Pure bred mischief! We call her Angel.
