Oh, getting a dog to lick a flagpole shouldn’t be too difficult:
1. Obtain a fresh cat turd.
2. Apply small amount to lower portion of flagpole at required “dog height.” NOTE: DO NOT apply in a layer thick enough to obscure the metal!
3. Allow turd to freeze in position.
4. Take dog for “walkies” over to flagpole.
5. Let nature take its course. Feel free to mention to your dog how much he/she looks like Flick from “A Christmas Story.”
Yes, I know this is a bit graphic and possibly shows far too much forethought. But after watching one of our dogs chowing down on yet another order of “feline lawn lunch” yesterday, I had to go for it.

As long as you don’t make an instructional video for it.

Day ain’t over yet, pal!
Hey, with enough funding, you could be seeing it on WGBH as early as next month.

I spent this last winter in Winnipeg, Manitoba - Canada. It was super cold outside (as it is in Winterpeg), when my curious little dachshund decided to see what frost tasted like on the METAL lawn furniture.
I was stacking wood at the time and heard her muffled wines.
When I turned around, she had her tongue totally stretched out of her mouth and was pulling and pulling! She pulled it right off before I could get there…. poor little dog!!
Her tongue seems longer since then…:-)
